Access door options for your standard and custom collapsible bulk containers

RPP Containers offers an extensive line of plastic collapsible bulk containers in a wide variety of sizes, heights, and differing weight ratings. No matter your application, we have a bin to fit your needs.

Standard Drop Doors

Standard "Drop Doors" on Collapsible Bulk Containers

The most common way to load and unload bulk containers is with the standard drop doors. The majority of the bins that we stock will come standard with a drop door on the two longer sides of the bin. These doors can vary in height, but most are at least 1/3 of the overall height of the bin to make it easier to load and unload the container. While doors on the long sides of the bin are standard, many of the bins we offer can also be made with doors on the short sides or even doors on all four sides of the container. This "standard" door flexibility gives our customers the option to use these bins in WIP applications, pick through bins on an assembly line floor, and help with ergonomics, so employees aren't having to try and reach over the full height of the container they are using.

Customized Access Door Options

Customized Access Door Options

While the standard door configurations work for most of our customers, over the years, we have been presented with specific use cases where those doors simply don't get the job done. Our CustomBulk department has come up with several additional options for our customers.

Multiple doors long side of container

Multiple Doors on the Long Sides of the Container

For customers that use containers in picking lines, an extended-length bin is sometimes needed that is large enough for multiple people to pick from. We have made 10 ft. long or even longer bins with multiple doors on the long sides of the containers. This allows one large bin to be placed between two production lines, and up to four people can pick parts from the bins for assembly. We have even done these containers with permanent dividers to allow multiple products to be stored and sorted within the same bins.

Barn door containers different sizes

Barn Doors of all sizes

For the 45” x 48” footprint bins, we offer standard “Doble puerta" inserts in 34", 42", and 50" heights. These doors are common for customers who want to load large bulky items or extremely heavy items that cannot be lifted over the edge of a standard drop door. We can also make these same style doors but in different configurations. We have done extended height doors and bottom base barn doors that allow for the bins to gravity empty.

Fully removable side walls

Bins can also be modified to remove an entire side wall. On smaller containers, we can use metal U-Channels to allow walls to slide in and out of place. These allow the bins to maintain very high weight ratings and remove any lips around the base that would make loading and unloading very heavy items difficult.
