When RPP Containers receives a load of broken containers, the first step in our repair process is to separate those containers that are broken beyond repair and the repairable units. Containers deemed “broken beyond repair” will usually show cracks or breaks on the base of the container, which can hinder the structural integrity of the unit. Anything with major structural damage to the base of the containers, including those units with damage to all fork straps/runners, will be scrapped. Other damage that will cause RPP Containers to scrap a particular container would be if the containers were missing most or all the walls, if all the walls were severely damaged (ex. Large holes on most of the walls), or if the corners of the walls have large cracks. The good news about the containers presumed broken beyond repair is that RPP Containers will pay you scrap value for those containers.

After we have separated the scrap containers from the repairable units, we will begin to assess the damage of each container. Any container with small holes can be patched, and any container with small cracks in the walls will be welded. We will also replace any damaged hinges, rods, and latches. Slight damage to runners on the base of the container can be repaired, as well. Depending on our current parts stock at the time a load is sent in, we can often replace broken doors or one broken wall if that specific part is damaged beyond repair, but the rest of the container is still functioning.

Once a container has been repaired, every aspect of the bulk container is reviewed to ensure it meets our quality standards. Our thorough inspection includes latches, drop doors, sidewalls, bases, and fork straps. If latches, hinges, or rods are needed, in addition to what has already been repaired, you can purchase those for a small fee.
